Quick Facts

Since 1991, Aquinas Academy has excelled at forming young people in a way that emphasizes the whole person -- physical and spiritual, intellectual and moral, academic and apostolic -- and is focused on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Founded

Aquinas Academy was founded in 1991 by a group of committed parents who wanted provide their children with an exceptional classical Catholic education.

Governance

As a private, independent K3 - 8th grade academy, Aquinas is governed by the Independent Scholastic Association, Inc. (ISA, Inc.).  The ISA, Inc. consists of a group of lay Catholic business leaders who are passionate about making a difference for our children and society.

Exceptional Academics

As evidenced by our outstanding standardized test scores (Iowa Test of Basic Skills) and the excellent performance of our graduates in academically challenging high schools, Aquinas Academy ranks among the top 15% of all schools nationally.

Class Sizes and Pupil to Teacher Ratio

Aquinas class seizes generally range from 9 to 13 students with a few classes with higher or lower enrollment. Our pupil to teacher ratio of just over 7 to 1.

Enrollment

Over 125 students in K3 - 8th grades attend Aquinas and enrollment has grown at a rate of 9% annually since 2007.

Academic Year

The academic year is comprised of 36 weeks and divided into trimesters. Report cards are sent home at the end of each trimester. Online grading provides immediate feedback on student progress.

International Programs

Aquinas welcomes international students looking for an English immersion experience. Host family opportunities are available.

Transportation

Busing is available for Germantown residents. Car pool options exist from virtually every community within a 30-mile radius.

Diversity

Aquinas Academy admits students of any race, color, creed, or national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.

Athletics

Aquinas Academy believes that athletics are an important part of a student's formation.  Our athletic programs provide our student-athletes the chance to practice virtues such as charity, obedience, honesty, discipline, graciousness, and humility.  Healthy athletic participation also teaches teamwork and respect for authority.

Holy Mass & Spiritual Formation

Recognized as the source and summit of our spiritual lives, we attend Holy Mass no less than once a week. Everything else that we do begins with prayer and is part of our integrated spiritual formation.
